Alfonso sighed. Today was going very slowly. He had just gotten out of school, and as today was his first day off, he felt kind of free. Yet at the same time, everything felt kinda boring. He was currently lying on his bed, on his phone. Switching between reading SCP's and watching YouTube. He was sitting there quite awhile, slowly letting time pass as he laid there, looking up into the screen of his phone. It was getting kinda close to noon, when Alfonso accidentally dropped his phone, and it smacked him in the face before falling on the floor and bouncing under his bed. Alfonso groaned a little bit, but hopped off his bed, before kneeling to look under it. His phone was resting on top of a strange object that he didn't recognize. He pulled it and his phone out. The object in question was a strange rubber mask in the shape of a jackal. "Where did this even come from?" Alfonso thought. He certainly had never seen it before. On the back of the neck was a small little sticker that said, "WARNING" in red letters followed by a lot of smaller harder to read ones. Alfonso figured it was just warning about how the mask was a choking hazard or something of the sort. As he turned it around in his hands, the pattern of fur in the rubber mask seemed eerily realistic. Alfonso felt strangely curious as to see what he looked like wearing it. Mainly to see what he looked like, but also hoping to see if it looked more familiar on him. He walked down the hall to the bathroom, and once in there, he looked at his reflection in the mirror. His hair was pretty messy, especially considering he hadn't tried to make it look nice this morning. He slowly slid the mask onto his face, it seemed to fit so well. He adjusted it a little bit until he could see out the eyeholes. Looking at himself wearing it didn't really seem to jog his memory of where it came from, but he had to admit, the mask looked rather cool, maybe even a bit scary, at least to younger individuals. The mask grew a bit tighter on his face, hugging to it, and making it his own flesh. Alfonso didn't notice, but tried to pull it off. Then he noticed that the neck region of the mask had grown tight around his neck, and the rubber was changing into a real fur coat. He tugged harder, but to no avail. The ears of the costume became his, as his old ears were consumed by the mask. They twitched and wiggled, becoming real as well. Alfonso started freaking out. He kept trying to pull it off, his face stretched outwards to meet the snout of his mask, as it became his own. He put his hands on it, feeling the rubber change to fur under his hands. "H..how is this possible....." Alfonso thought. He could only watch in the mirror, as the mask slowly consumed the rest of his face, rubber becoming flesh and fur. Once his entire head was a jackal's he began to notice small details, like how his eyelashes looked longer. Suddenly, hair started to grow from the mask, giving him a very full head of hair once again. Instead of how his hair usually looked, this hair was more straight than curly, and it grew down his back, until it was quite long. "Ugh... How do I fix this....." Alfonso muttered. Suddenly, the end of his spine tingled, and a long thin black tail worked its way out of his pants. "Great... Now I've got a...." His chest bubbled outwards into two breasts. "What the.....?!" His hips moved outwards, straining against his pants, and his waist moved inwards, giving him a slight hourglass figure. He shrank down a few inches, and his shoulders became more round. his arms and legs morphed to become more feminine, all the hair on them sinking into his skin with a slightly uncomfortable prickling sensation. Lastly, his manhood was pulled inside of him, completing his changes. Alfonso's face turned red. "Why....did that even happen...." She felt something stuck in her fur on her neck, and she pulled it out, with a little bit of her fur. She winced, and rubbed the spot where the item had been. She held it up to examine it. It was the warning tag from earlier. She read, "WARNING: By placing on this mask, you are agreeing to becoming an employee of the Egyptian Underworld, henceforth allowing your form to be changed to best fit into your role. A portal should arrive shortly after, taking you to the underworld. Should you have any issues, please call us on our toll free number." At the bottom were several numbers and a customer support e-mail. Alfonso pulled out her phone and was about to call, when a dark circular portal opened up right I'm front of her. "Oh... Um...." The portal seemed to swirl quickly, and it started to pull her in like a vacuum. "No wait!" Alfonso quickly put her phone in her pocket, and grabbed onto the sink, but the force was too strong, and she lost her grip and was pulled through. She flew out of the portal and landed on her butt, on a wooden dock. She slowly got up, rubbing her injured area. It was then that she noticed something else. She was wearing a strange sort of loose tank top, and a weird sort of skirt/robe thing. "My phone!" She said. She patted her outfit, trying to see if there was a pocket somewhere she didn't know about. "Ahem, are you ready to go, miss?" She heard a gruff voice say. She looked up to see a grizzly man staring at her. He was standing in a reed boat with a single oar in hand, floating in the dark river at the end of the dock. "Um, I thought the whole boatman thing was Greek, not Egyptian?" Alfonso said.
"Special circumstances...." The man said, showing off his rotting teeth.
"And miss?! I am a dude!" Alfonso said, slowly getting into the boat anyways.
"Oh, um..... Did they mess up the ones they sent? You must've gotten a lady's..." The man paused for a moment, then laughed. "That means there's a woman out there who might become a jackal guy...." The man laughed harder. "If she's as dumb as you and can't read!"
"It's not that funny. Being a girl isn't so bad." Alfonso said, her ears flattening against her head.
"Sure it isn't....." The man said, stopping himself from laughing, "Do you even know why you're here?"
"Because I put on a stupid mask...." Alfonso said.
"Well, not quite, you've been hired for a job. Osiris will explain... And... We're here." The boatman stopped the boat at another dock, this one in front of a looming stone building.
"The Temple of Osiris." He said. He turned and looked at Alfonso, sitting there, looking at him. "Well go on! Get out!" He said. Alfonso hopped out of the boat and started to walk down the dock. The boatman simply started paddling away, the currents taking his boat down the river. "Great... I guess I have to go inside..." Alfonso took one step when suddenly a man in a butler's uniform materialized next to her. "Ah!" She jumped in surprise. The man in question was clearly a ghost or spirit of some kind, he was glowing and had bluish/whitish skin. "I see our new intern is a jumpy one." He mused, "Come and follow me, I'll show you around the facility." Alfonso quietly followed the ghost, still not entirely sure what she was getting herself into. "This is the main hall, where the deceased get their hearts weighed with the feather of truth, and afterwards, Ammit usually would eat their hearts if they're wicked."  The ghost explained. He led Alfonso to a hallway with lots of side room. They all had little labels on them with names like, "Secretary", "Human Resources", and "Janitorial Jackals"
"What's this one?" Alfonso mentioned.
"Oh. You should see them, running around with brooms and dustpans. Very cute." The ghost smiled, "And this one is yours." He said. The door read, "Intern". Alfonso opened up the door to see a small room with a slightly uncomfortable looking bed and a desk, as well as a dresser. There was an opening in the wall that appeared to be a closet. Hanging in it was Alfonso's outfit she had previously been wearing. Her t-shirt and shorts looked so appealing, instead of wearing these revealing and somewhat drafty ancient Egyptian robes. She walked over to it, and turned to look at the ghost. "Leave, so I can change." She said.
"No. You can't change out of that yet, you need to look your best to meet Osiris...." The ghost somehow grabbed her hand and pulled her out of the room. The door closed behind them, and the ghost let go of her hand. "Follow me. You can get changed later." The ghost led Alfonso down the halls until they came to a door that read, "CEO".
"Here we are. This is Osiris' office. Go ahead inside, he'll explain to you why you're here." The ghost gestured to the door. Alfonso opened up the door and stepped inside, ready to get some answers. The room inside was massive, there was an extremely large desk, and seated behind it was a giant with a bird's head. "Hello." Osiris said.
"Um.... Uh.... Hi. Why am I here?" Alfonso said.
"Those clothes must be making you so uncomfortable. Especially after the whole gender change incident. Here. Maybe you can talk better in more comforting clothes." Osiris waved his hand, and Alfonso's clothes suddenly swapped with her old ones she had just seen in her closet. A bra formed underneath her shirt, and her underwear changed to fit her new body. Her clothes tightened and reshaped to fit as well.
"And.... I suppose I might look intimidating...." Osiris and his desk shrank down to the size of a normal man, making him still quite imposing to Alfonso, but easily less so. "Um... Thank you..... Why did you bring me here?" Alfonso said. Osiris laughed, "Okay. So, the devourer of hearts, Amitt, realized that they hadn't used any vacation days.... And..... Lets just say they have been building up since the dawn of Egypt, so... I realized I would need someone to eat the hearts of the wicked..." Osiris explained.
"You mean.... Me?" Alfonso's face contorted with confusion and a bit of disgust., "What makes you think I want to eat hearts?"
"Trust me, my chefs make the best dishes, and don't even worry about getting full. The hearts of the wicked aren't very filling. I'm basically paying you to eat food." Osiris said.
"I'm being payed?" Alfonso said.
"Yes. Of course, if you don't want to work here, I could understand. I'll just send you home, just like that, get your shabti double out of your house, and that'll be that." Osiris said.
"What's a shabti? And.... Not if you leave me like this....." Alfonso said.
"An enchanted statue. It will act exactly as you would. It will replace you while you work here." Osiris said, "If you work through the entirety of Ammit's vacation, then I will change you back, and send you back. I trust that you were already shown your quarters?"
"Um. Yes.... Well.... If you'll change me back.... Then I guess I can do it." Alfonso said, "But what about my friends and such? I won't get to see them."
"Oh. I can certainly transport you back to the mortal realm for special occasions. Or better yet, you could bring your friends here. They'd likely need to go through a similar change though, to be able to come here without being dead." Osiris said.
Alfonso's tail started wagging, "Okay. I accept then. I'll do it...."
"Thank you. Keep in mind this'll probably look great on your résumé as an added bonus. I'll let you go now. I hear we've had a lot of wicked people here today, and you'd better get well used to the taste of heart. I'll see you at the staff dinner. Where you'll get some real food." Osiris said. Alfonso got up and walked outside the office. The ghost was sitting there waiting. He didn't comment on the outfit change, "So, ready for me to lead you to your work station?" He said.
"As ready as I'll ever be....." Alfonso felt a little sick, but hoped Osiris was telling the truth about how hearts tasted.
It's kinda weird, but hey, it was something my friends encouraged me to do, and it was fun to write. Hope people enjoy. Feel free to tell me your thoughts in the comments.

SCP stands for secure contain protect or special containment protocols, it is also a collective term when followed by a number for anomalous entities from the SCP wiki which each have a report. Imagine a website that decides to write horror but in the tone of a office memo. It is very strange at times and has a lot of recurring entities/characters between reports. It is very good and I recomend you just look up someone who reads them, start with the volgun
